Are
you looking for a property off campus but don't know where to start?
You
have come to the right place!
Student Housing Off
Campus is a FREE service for you!
Q: Is your service just for students?
A: No, our service is available to everyone including the university community and general publc, however; our main focus is to find properties within a ten mile proximity of your main college campus.
Q: When should I start looking for a rental?
A: We recommend that you start looking for a rental between 45 and 60 days before you are ready to move. We are able to pre-lease units as far in advance as four months if needed, but very often you will not be able to see the actual unit that you will be living in until 30 days before your move in date. (we do have plenty of models for you to view in advance)
Q: What do I need to bring with me in order to rent a place?
A: Always bring your PHOTO ID (drivers license, military ID or passport). Also, if you decide that you may want to rent a particular unit, have a checkbook with you to place a "hold" on the property.
Q: Is your service really FREE?
A: Yes,
we receive compensation from the landlords only, our well trained agents
are paid a commission by the landlord only when and if you sign a contract on a property
that they show you, we never cost you a penny!
Q: What is required to rent an apartment?
A: Most private landlords will request first, last and security in order to rent a unit. While these up-front costs can be high, we also offer thousands of rental communities which are corporately owned. Rental communities allow you to move in for much lower out of pocket expenses, they also offer rental specials that are very competitive.
Q: Is there any reason I won't get approved for a rental?
A: Nearly all landlords and rental communities require a pre-screening. You will need to have your criminal background checked as well as your credit history. While we are able to work with poor credit, we often can not approve anyone with a felony. This is done in order to ensure the safety of both the clients and the communities that we work with.
Q: Are pets
allowed ?
A: All landlords and property managers have different rules
about pets. Our rental assistants can help you find a property that meets all
of your needs, whether you have a teacup poodle or a large pit-bull, there are suitable properties for everyone!
